Our Folly Beach Vacation Home (for the week)

It being the off season (meaning hurricane season), we got a great deal on a vacation rental in Folly Beach.  Our condo was in a beautiful little development, right on the sound, and only about three blocks from the beach, and two blocks from main street in Folly Beach.  The town has all sorts of little gift shops, clothing stores, restaurants, and ice cream/candy store, etc.  We can thank Nate for researching and locating this beautiful property for us.  We loved it!

It is such a rare occasion for our family (6 years) and Camyll's family (since she's been married and had two kids) to take a vacation that didn't involve visiting family, that we HAD to take pictures to remember our little oasis. 

This was our little development, Water's Edge.

And here is our condo, #110.

 Our screened in porch--a necessity in the south.  We were SO happy to have this luxury and be able to sit out and enjoy the beautiful weather bug free!!  There was a beautiful view of the sound from our deck, and the weather was nearly perfect every day.  We ate many a meal on the deck, the adults each had some personal reading time out there, and the boys loved playing out there as well.  It was one of my favorite parts of the condo. 

 The living room.  We were worried there was no tv, but the big picture over the fireplace opened up to reveal a flat screen.  The kids used the tv the most, watching some Disney channel shows we don't get at home.

The kitchen was beautiful and spacious.

  The master bedroom Nate and I were fortunate enough to have.

 The first floor bedroom where Camyll and Jason stayed.  Apparently the bed was horribly uncomfortable, small, and squeaky.  We felt so bad when we found out.  Our bed was not great, but it didn't squeak every time one of us rolled over.

 The two boys were upstairs with us in the third bedroom/office.

 The bed was a trundle that lifted up behind the bookcase, so rather than having kids falling off the bed onto the wood floor, we put the bed up, and had them sleep on twin air mattresses.  It was fun for them to share a room for the week.

There was also a picturesque little dock at the end of the property, and a swimming pool that wasn't heated, so we never used it.  Who needs a cold pool when you have the warm beach?

 But I think our favorite amenity (both kids and adults), was the golf cart that came with the house.  The kids enjoyed riding it as much as the adults liked driving it.  It sure made trips to the beach easy and kept our cars sand-free.  You should have seen it with all our beach chairs, bags, boogie boards, 4 adults and 3 kids all piled on--Ha!

 It was also a source of entertainment for all.  We took many golf cart rides around the neighborhood, exploring, and viewing all the beach houses and streets around.  Every trip to the beach needs a golf cart, I think.
