4th of July

After having spent most of 4th of July weekend moving and unpacking, we tried to drum up a little fun on the actual 4th of July. That morning we went shopping. Nathan, my Dad and Cooper went to Bass Pro Shops to see the fish in the fishtank. Cooper loved that. Us girls went shopping--just us. We loved that! We met up for lunch and they had a carosel. This was Cooper's first time. At first he was a little afraid, but by the end he was all smiles.

That afternoon we kept it low-key and had a backyard bar-b-que with my Dad, my sister, and Nate's Aunt Denise (or "Aunt Neice" as Cooper would say), Unlce Jim and Cousin Allison ("Addy" in Cooper talk). Cooper had fun trying out his new pool in the backyard.
The kid has no fear when it comes to water, evidenced by the water running down his face in this picture.

It was so hot that the adults sat around and mingled, well these guys did.
Allison, Cassady and I were sticking our feet in the pool with Cooper, trying to keep cool in the humid summer heat.
It rained later that night, and so we ended up staying home watching fireworks on tv broadcast from the Nation's Capital. Coop fell asleep before the fireworks were on, but he seemed to have enjoyed the holiday as well as the rest of us.
