After not seeing each other for four years, my Twin and I finally crossed paths in Utah. My "Twin" is my best friend, Melodee. We've been friends since 7th grade, and thanks to blogs, FB, and such, we still keep in touch pretty regularly. The last four years have had us spread across Florida/Texas and Georgia/NC. When we found out we'd both be in Utah, we made a way to meet up, even if it was only for a few frantic hours on a very busy day at Mel's mother's house. Happily, Amber, our other bestie from Jr. High, was also able to join us. What a reunion! By that I mean that there were no fireworks or crazy celebrations, but it was just like friends getting together to hang out for a few hours. It was like we hadn't ever been apart, and we just had a few kids tagging along. Our conversations never lagged, and it felt like it always had--three girls just chatting away about life.
Thank you, Mel and Amber, for a great two hours of girl time! Next time I hope we have more time, and fewer kids with us, but even if we don't, it'll still be great to see you. Thank you for your friendships over the years (21 to be exact!--gulp).
While we were chatting away, our kids were being crazy down in the basement. Thankfully Mel's mom was there to keep the mayhem to a minimum.
Coop talked for days afterward about wanting to play with "Tile" [Kyle], "Quarter" [Carter], and "Tess-a-wee" [Paisley] again.
Let's hope it's not another four years before we can get together again!
