A Visit from Our Baltimore Cousins

Last weekend my brother, Bryt; his wife, Liz; and their girls, Ellie (7) and Kate (2-1/2) came for a visit. They arrived about 10 pm Friday night, but Cooper was so excited that he just couldn't sleep, and had to stay up to greet them. As soon as their car pulled onto the driveway, he ran out the door like a mad man. It only took a few minutes for them to start playing together. They were trying to be sneaky spies and shoot all the adults with nerf darts!
Kate needed to be in the picture too. The kids played well together all weekend, especially Ellie and Cooper. He loves his cousins!
Saturday was rainy, so we ventured to "Ray's Splash Planet" in Charlotte for some indoor swimming and splashing. We all had a great time in the pools, and the kids enjoyed the kiddie waterslides, and water spraying every which way. Nate had Hudson most of the time, so I got to really enjoy myself with Cooper. We had fun riding tubes on the lazy river with Kate and Liz while Bryt and Ellie went down the big waterslide. They also had a fun whirlpool that spun swimmers on a circle. But the most fun was letting the kids jump in off the side of the pool and showing us their swimming skills.  Ellie and Coop are good swimmers, and Kate is fearless in the water. I played motorboat with her a few times and got her giggling. So fun!
That night we went to eat at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Charlotte, Cantina 1500. Our families LOVE us some Mexican food!! I think we must have eaten at least 10 baskets of chips with the salsa and guacamole.
Sunday we had Hudson's baby blessing (see next post).
Ellie loved to hold baby Hudson, and was great at it. Sure wish I had her help all the time!
Coop was in heaven with his cousins at our house.
Monday morning I told Cooper it was time for breakfast, and he asked if he could wake up Ellie for breakfast too. He'd forgotten they'd left the previous afternoon. He has asked every few hours since then when she'll be coming back.  We love that they could come for a visit!
Natw and I also enjoyed their visit immensely. Too bad Bryt and Liz don't still live in Charlotte. We sure do miss having them here! Us adults stayed up late both night just chatting away. So glad they were able to visit, even though it was WAY TOO SHORT. Love you guys!
